Schroon Lake's last building project was conducted in 1980 and included new windows and asbestos removal.
"We need to strive to be as current as we possibly can in this day and age of education and advancement," Blair said.
The Schroon Lake community has been curious about the construction taking place on campus and is anxious to see the project approach completion.
"You have to tear down before you can rebuild and this community understands that," said Blair. "I think we are all excited to see the project finished."
Blair foresees no interruption of sports or class schedules because of construction and reports that the project remains on budget despite the unplanned setbacks.
A professional cleaning crew will be working on the building during the next two weeks to prepare it for the return of students Sept. 8.
