Record attendance at 18th annual Ticonderoga car show

TICONDEROGA - With Mother Nature cooperating the Ticonderoga Chamber's 18th annual car show had a record attendance. Well over 300 vehicles filled Bicentennial Park to capacity. Unfortunately, many late arrivals had to be turned away.

The annual car show is designed to be a fun family event with games, vendors, raffles. A little something for everyone including over 100 trophies awarded to participants. Vehicles are judged on fit & finish instead of "over the top" nuts & bolts judging. This allows everyone the opportunity to display their vehicles and at the same time hopefully have a fun-filled outing. You don't have to own an expensive classic to be a part of the show. Participants traveled from all over the northeast including Vermont, Massachusettes, Connecticut and Canada. The top winners of the show are:

Best Display Awards go to Mark Freedman of Saratoga Springs with his 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass, Todd & Tonya Condon of Ticonderoga with their 1973 Volkswagen Beetle and Vernon Centerbar of Milton, Vt. with his 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Longest Distance travelled went to David Page from East Noel, Nova Scotia who traveled 801 miles in his 1968 Coronet 500.

Club Participation went to the North Warren Car Club

Most Likely to Get Pulled Over went to Norm Monette (The Flying Farmer) from Moriah with his 1957 Chevy Belair.

Chamber's Choice Award went to James Provost from Morrisonville with his 1960 Ford F-100 pickup.

Best of Show Car went to John & Sandy Farah from Cohoes with their 1961 Chevy Corvette. This car was also one of our Super Wheels picks but they are unable to make the trip to Boston. An alternate vehicle was picked to take their place.

Best of Show Truck went to Chaz Lasher from Chestertown with his 1957 Chevy Pickup.

Best of Show Street Rod went to Pete & Margaret Schmid from Craryville, NY with their 1932 Ford 3 Window Coupe.
