"The log truck driver was not at fault," Stannard said.
Schroon Lake Emergency Medical Services responded, and four or so members of the squad transported the crash victim to Warrensburg, where a helicopter landed beside the Warrensburg fire hall, and he was airlifted to Albany Medical Center.
Stannard said the crash victim was ticketed for Failure to Keep Right, and other charges are may be filed, pending alcohol blood content tests.
Evidence at the scene indicated that the picjup driver might be intoxicated, Stannard said. The roadway was clear and dry, and there was only light traffic at the time, she said.
Stannard said the crash victim likely had internal injuries.
"The injuries appeared to be serious but not life-threatening," she said. "We believe he'll be okay."
