Crown Point businesses are now eligible to be members of the Ti chamber. The Ti chamber has 160 members, 15 from Crown Point.
A chamber of commerce would not be new to Crown Point. The community had its own chamber in 1956 and 1957.
Ockrin said a subcommittee will meet soon to define the need for a Crown Point chamber. Once that's complete, another meeting will be held for all interested people to attend.
"At that time the goals and mission statement for the chamber will be presented, discussed and decided upon," Ockrin said. "Again, all Crown Point business people and area residents are warmly invited to participate."
Kosmider urged local residents to be part of the chamber discussion.
"We need to come together to foster a fresh sense of community in Crown Point," she said. "If you are wondering if we need you - we need you - wonder no more. Come out and be a part of the Crown Point chamber team."
