Holme Honored With Rotary Harris Award

On April 1 at the meeting of the Chester Rotary Club of Chester, long time Rotarian John Holme, was honored with the presentation of a Paul Harris Award. The award was presented by Rick Manganello, Rotary District 7870 Governor Elect and David Hoopes, Rotary District 7870 Assistant Governor Elect.

A Paul Harris Fellow Award is given by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International for contributions to the Foundation for various projects to allay suffering, improve living conditions and providing educational opportunities for young people somewhere in the world. The Award is named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary in Chicago in 1905. The Paul Harris Award provides an important incentive to Rotarians to support the many projects of the Rotary Foundation. It is one of the highest awards given to a Rotarian.

After the presentation, Holme said, "I was extremely honored to receive this prestigious award. I am also very honored to receive the award from Rick Manganello and David Hoopes."

After the presentation of the Award, Chester Rotary President Ed Knapp said, "Please accept our congratulations and sincere appreciation for your commitment to our common goals of world understanding and peace."
