Farming artists at Vergennes gallery

VERGENNES-Creative Space Gallery in Vergennes is the final opportunity to view the exhibition, "Bounty: A Celebration of Vermont's Farming Artists." The exhibition, a special partnership project of the Vermont Arts Council and UVM Extension's Center for Sustainable Agriculture, will be on view through Sunday, April 25.

Assembled by UVM Extension's Center for Sustainable Agriculture, the exhibit showcases more than 30 works by painters, sculptors, photographers, writers, textile, and video artists who are also farmers in Vermont.

Featured artists include Phyllis Bowdish, Jenn Colby, Emily Curtis-Murphy, Kristan Doolan, Barbara Flack, Pete Guenther, Nancy Hayden, Diane Petrie, Gerianne Smart, and Kate Stockman. Visitors to the exhibition can view a trailer of the film "The Summer of Walter Hacks," set on a Vermont farm in 1952, created by Waterbury filmmaker and organic dairy farmer George Woodard, and produced by Gerianne Smart.
