Doings at the South Londonderry Library

Currently showing in the Janeway Wing of the library are intricately designed, colorful quilted wall hangings crafted by Jan Gordon and Vicki Greene. This exhibit will run through April can be seen during library hours.

Local author, Stephen Swinburne, generously donated three of his new children's books to the library. Steve has written and published over 20 non-fiction books for children and young adults.

The most popular books for adults circulating this past month are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest will be available in May. These books were written by Stieg Larsson and were published posthumously. Henning Mankell, another Swedish author, who wrote The Man from Beijing is also popular.

Other recent acquisitions include Secrets of Eden by Vermont author, Chris Bohjalian, Big Short by Michael Lewis, Every Day in Tuscany by Frances Mayes, Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert, American Conspiracies by Jesse Ventura, Three Weissmanns of Westport by Cathleen Schine, Caught by Harlan Coben and Doors Open by Ian Rankin.

Library hours are: Mondays - 10 to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays - 10 to noon, 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p. m.; Fridays 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays we are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
