Chittenden Bank made a $10,000 donation to the Vermont National Guard Charitable Foundation to aid the men and women of the Vermont National Guard and their families.
The foundation was founded in 2005, to meet the emergency financial needs of soldiers, airmen and families of the Vermont National Guard.
Since its inception, the foundation has provided over $250,000 in grants to meet a variety of needs from mortgage payments and car loans to heating fuel, home repairs and utility payments, to name a few.
The recent deployment of the Vermont National Guard is the largest since World War II and places many strains on the families left behind.
