"It was a huge surprise to hear about these cuts and it is a huge concern for the North Country," he said.
Municipal leaders traveled to Albany last week to try and prove how critical ORDA is to the upstate economy. Goodspeed joined the group and spoke of the jobs that Gore Mountain brings to Johnsburg as well as its positive effect on the local economy.
"ORDA produces revenue," he said. "It doesn't make sense to cut a revenue source - it's fiscally irresponsible."
Of the dozens of facilities that ORDA runs, Gore Mountain receives funding for all of its operating costs and would undoubtedly face closure if that funding were to disappear.
