GLENS FALLS - The prospects and progress of the new GlobalFoundries chip fabrication plant will again take the spotlight as area business leaders gather Thursday April 22 for the annual luncheon of the Warren County Economic Development Corp.
The event, which offers a review economic progress in the region, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge in Queensbury. The event is open to the public, with advance paid reservations - $45 for EDC members, and $65 for non-members.
The event's keynote speaker is Rick Whitney, President and CEO of M+W U.S., Inc., the designer and general contractor for the chip fab plant now under construction in Malta. In addition to providing an update on the plant site - for which an expansion has recently been proposed - he will share his vision of Tech Valley's future and explain why M+W U.S. is relocating its headquarters from Dallas to the Capital Region.
Corporate sponsor packages are available from $500 to $2500, and include benefits such as event recognition, table displays at the opening reception. For details and reservations, contact Elaine Behlmer at 761-6007 ext. 300 or via email at: email@example.com. Early reservations are suggested, as last year's event sold out.
