Port Henry program to assist shelter

PORT HENRY - The "Cat's Meow" benefit show for the North Country SPCA will be held on Friday, April 23, at Boni's Bistro on Main St.in Port Henry.

Several local entertainers are scheduled to perform between sets of fashionably attired models, presented by the Ticonderoga Methodist Church Thrift Shop.

Foods, desserts and soft drinks will be available throughout the evening, which will start at 6:30 p.m. The show will start at 7 p.m. when Lem Treadway will come to the mic and introduce the entertainers as well as the models in their spring and summer outfits.

Tickets are $10 a person with the profits donated to the North Country SPCA. There will also be many raffle items available.

The North Country SPCA is a non-profit, no-kill shelter located in Westport that serves all of Essex County. The shelter houses approximately 80 to 100 animals at any given time.

The NCSPCA receives no funding from New York State, the federal government or the national ASPCA. The NCSPCA relies on donations from individuals for 85 percent of its budget. For more information visit the shelter website at: www.ncspca.org.

Tickets for the event are on sale at Boni's Bistro in Port Henry, The First United Methodist Church Thrift Shop in Ticonderoga, Adirondack Hair Associates in Port Henry and Frenchman's Restaurant in Crown Point.
