Sentinels capture CVAC win

Ticonderoga downed Northeastern Clinton, 25-31, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys cross country action Sept. 15.

The Sentinels dropped a 24-33 decision to Peru.

Jay Berube paced Ti, winning the 3.1-mile race in 17 minutes, 7 seconds.Josh Cook took third place, Ben Karkoski ninth and Kevin Densmore 12th for the Sentinels.

Ticonderoga lost to NCCS, 19-40, and to Peru, 18-37, in the girls race.

Katie Karkoski led the Sentinels, taking fourth place.

Jordana Green was 12th for Ti, followed by Becky Barber 14th and Hannah Herbst 15th.

Sentinels fall

Depth was a problem for Ticonderoga as it lost in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys cross country action Sept. 18.

Ti's Jay Berube and Josh Cook took first and second place, but the Sentinels lost to Saranac, 25-36, and Plattsburgh, 25-30, when no other Sentinel runner could break into the top 15.

Berube was clocked in 17:24 and Cook 18:12 on the 3.1-mile course.

Ticonderoga lost in girls action to Saranac, 18-45, and Plattsburgh, 18-39.

Katie Karkoski paced Ti, finishing fifth.

Jordana Green was 11th for the Sentinels, followed by Becky Barber 16th, Hannah Herbst 17th and Markie teRiele 19th.
