Moriah topples archrival Ticonderoga

Moriah edged Ticonderoga, 2-1, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Sept. 15.

Alexis Bezon tallied for the Sentinels with an assist from Jessie Patchett for a 1-0 lead.

Samantha Slattery knotted the game for Moriah, scoring on a direct kick. Torri Fernandez then netted the game-winner in the second half with an assist from Chynna Allen.

Goalie Hayley Waldron made it stand up for the Vikings, making nine saves.

Jocelyn Barber made 10 saves in the Ti goal.

Willsboro 6, Crown Point 1
Crown Point lost to Willsboro, 6-1, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Sept. 15.

Marion James had two goals for the winners. Ashley Andersen tallied for Crown Point. Ashley Morgan and Samantha Russell combined to make 18 saves for the Panthers, who were out-shot, 27-1.

Schroon Lake was blanked by Westport, 2-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Sept. 15.

A beleaguered Mindy Whitty recorded 23 saves for Schroon.

Ticonderoga lost to Lake Placid, 3-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Sept. 17.

Jocelyn Barber made 20 saves in goal for Ti.

Moriah dropped a 5-0 decision to Northern Adirondack in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Sept. 17.

Hayley Waldron made eight saves for Moriah.

ELCS 1, Schroon Lake 0
Elizabethtown-Lewis edged Schroon Lake, 1-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Sept. 17.

Kylee Cassavaugh scored with less than five minutes to play for the win.

Mindy Whitty made 11 saves for Schroon.

AVCS 2, Moriah 0
AuSable Valley blanked Moriah, 2-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Sept. 19.

Johanna Recny and Megan Colby scored goals for the winners.

Hayley Waldron stopped eight shots in the Moriah nets.
