Coast Guard auxiliary utilizes patrol craft

TICONDEROGA - The Bridge Flotilla 15-13 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has a 27-foot inboard-outboard pontoon craft to be used for their patrol use on Lake Champlain and the Northern Lake George area.

The pontoon boat is ideally suited to training crew members and for use as a search and rescue platform.

It has been totally equipped for towing and assisting boaters who are having serious problems on the water. While on patrol the auxiliary operates under the control of the Burlington Coast Guard Station and must conform to all their operating procedures and regulations.

Flotilla 15-13 does not own facilities and is very appreciative to the owners for the loan of their boats. The Flotilla now has three boats available for their use.

Always interested in promoting safety on the waters, the auxiliary is offering a Safe Boating Course on Oct. 3 at the Ticonderoga Elks Club. For information call David Carr at -597-3664 by Oct 1. It is a one day course and is required for all PWC operators in New York State.
