Morehouse receives Bar Foundation Scholarship

NORTH CREEK - The Board of Directors of the Warren County Bar Foundation is pleased to announce that a total of $12,000 in law school scholarships have been awarded for the 2009-10 academic year.

The John C. Mannix Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Clifford Morehouse of North Creek. Morehouse recently graduated from State University of New York College at Potsdam where he majored in criminal justice. He will be continuing his studies at Albany Law School.

The John C. Mannix Memorial Scholarship is awarded to honor Jack Mannix who passed away in 2006. Jack Mannix was a past Board Member of the Bar Foundation and one of its most generous supporters, both in his lifetime and by bequest.

The Warren County Bar Foundation was founded in 1981 for the purpose of advancing legal research and scholarships and to encourage a better understanding of the American legal system. For more than twenty years the Foundation has been awarding scholarships to area residents attending ABA approved law schools.

Residents of Warren County and the surrounding counties are eligible for consideration for scholarship awards.

In addition to the annual award of scholarships, the Foundation supports the advancement of justice and the American legal system through grants and donations that support legal organization, charities, and individuals attending legal conferences at the high school or college level.
