WARRENSBURG - The First Baptist Church of Warrensburg's AWANA youth group kicks off its 2009-10 season with a gathering at 6:30 p.m. Monday Sept. 21 at the church.
AWANA is a non-denominational program for youth ages 3 to 18. The group meets for various activities each Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The group hosts youth from many different church backgrounds - and some with no religious orientation - throughout the school year. There are games for each age level, snacks, Bible memory contests, and fascinating lessons in which young people get to hear sound moral and biblical teaching on how to live a life of faith in today's world, First Baptist pastor Roger Richards said.
