Construction work resumes at library, fundraiser set

The construction work at Richards Library related to its ongoing expansion project is now resuming. This latest phase involves installing insulation in the original section's ceilings, heating and plumbing conduits, and a barrier-free rest room.

Those who haven't yet seen the exhibit of Warrensburg High School students' art work, are invited to stop in.

The library still has tote bags for sale and the ongoing book/media sale in the foyer is also underway - so stop in and browse.

Upcoming events include Sarah Farrar's Story Hour, a series that begins in October.

Richard Library's fall fundraiser will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Warrensburg High School. Renowned Adirondack storyteller and singer Chris Shaw will entertain, with all proceeds going to the library's building fund. Tickets are available from trustees as well as at the library and at the door before the performance.

Winter Hours are now in force: Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m.to 1p.m.,Monday through Friday: 2 p.m.to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Meetings of the library Board of Trustees are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.; all are invited.

The library's new official charter has been received and it will be framed and on display soon.

Librarian Sarah Farrar has been very busy this summer, presenting a Story Hour for both the Warrensburg town craft program as well as elementary school remedial reading program. She spoke to the members of the Northeast Genealogical Conference about the Richards family and the history of the library. Farrar has also been assisting Rita Ferraro researching characters for the Historical Society's October Graveyard Walk, and helping John Hastings in his research for his postcard book about the Town of Warrensburg.
