TICONDEROGA - The First United Methodist Church in Ticonderoga is planning a busy September with many start-up and welcome back programs.
Worship services continue on Sundays at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Both services on Sept. 6 will include Communion. The Nursery for the very young is available each week during the 10:30 service and a coffee/fellowship time follows. The Rev. Scott Tyler is pastor of the church at 1045 Wicker St.
A Welcome Back Picnic will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, following the 10:30 service. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided and attendees are asked to bring something to share. All are welcome. The picnic will be held rain or shine followed by games and fellowship.
Sunday School will start on Sept. 13 as well and will be held during the 10:30 service. Children will attend the first part of the regular worship service in the sanctuary and then go to their age-respective classes.
United Methodist Women pot luck supper will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. All women are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Adult Chancel Choir will resume rehearsals on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the choir room.
The Handbell Choirs will resume practice on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. for the Young Peoples Choir and at 7:30 p.m. for the adults. Church Music Director Grace Trombley welcomes new members to all choirs.
Adult Sunday School will resume on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Alice Hobbs leading the series, "Where Am I in the Bible, Plus."
The youth group will resume meeting on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 6: to 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The theme this year is "service to others." All are welcome.
