NORTH CREEK - The Johnsburg Fine Arts Group and local polymer clay artist, Helene Goodman, will exhibit at the Widlund Gallery at Tannery Pond Community Center from Oct. 31 - Nov. 22.
An opening reception will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 from 5-6:30 pm. Come see your friends' and neighbors' new creations, and enjoy refreshments. The Upper Hudson Musical Arts concert with Trio Casals will follow the reception at 7:30 pm.
Membership in the fine arts group is open to anyone, of any age, and any level of ability. Classes, which are funded in part by the Town of Johnsburg, are held weekly on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am - noon at the Wevertown Community Center at the intersection of routes 8 and 28.
Watercolor artist Kate Hartley leads drawing and painting lessons, and advises participants on their individual projects on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Participants use a variety of painting media including oils, acrylics, watercolors, and more. Come explore the artist within you.
Helene Goodman, as Happy H.O.G. Designs, of North Creek, is a member of the Adirondack Mountain Polymer Clay Guild. Mostly known for her intriguing and beautiful necklaces and other jewelry pieces, Helene also creates pens, letter openers, bowls, etc.
"I can't possibly make everything that can be created with this medium," she said.
The Widlund Gallery in Tannery Pond Community Center is located at 228 Main Street in North Creek and is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and on Sundays when the "open" flag is out. For gallery information, call 251-2421 or visit the website at www.tpcca.org .
