The Chester-Andover Family Center is now making plans for the Thanksgiving baskets for the food shelf recipients and needs your help. We need the following by early November:
Frozen turkey - 12-16 pounds, or
Roasting chicken, 5-7 pounds
Potatoes, fresh or instant
Canned vegetables, fresh if received in a timely manner
Canned sweet potatoes, large and small
Cranberry sauce
Stuffing mix
Turkey or chicken gravy, canned or dry mix
Pie crust, dry or refrigerated Evaporated milk
They can be dropped off during our regular hours, Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In addition, we always need basic non-perishable food. To encourage this effort, the Center is offering a 50 percent discount on Thrift Shop purchases for each grocery bag of food brought during October.
We offer a special thanks to M & M Excavating for repairing the sink hole and the front door step at no cost to us.
