PLATTSBURGH -Two men have died as the result of a motor vehicle accident according to New York State Police.
An investigation has revealed that a 2000 Dodge Van, operated by Aaron J. Trombley, 32, Morrisonville, was traveling southbound on State Route 190 in the vicinity of Pellerin Road. Trombley's vehicle crossed into the northbound lane causing a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Herbert O. Therrian, 56, Altona, to swerve into the southbound lane to avoid a head on collision with Trombley's vehicle. Trombley swerved back into the southbound lane and his vehicle collided with the passenger side of Therrian's vehicle. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and Therrian's two passengers, Ronald E. Lee, 69, West Chazy, and Robert J. Wood, 44, Altona, were both pronounced deceased at the scene by Clinton County Coroner David Donah.
Trombley and Therrian were both transported to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is pending further investigation by the New York State Police in Plattsburgh and the Troop B collision reconstruction unit.
