News From the Rutland County Humane Society - Not Charging For Cat Adoptions

The Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) will not be charging adoption fees for adult cats over 1.

All other adoption policies and guidelines apply and only one cat per adopter is eligiblen. We are launching our "fee-waiver" promotion because we want to give them every chance to find the great homes they deserve. Feline overpopulation is a significant problem.

We shelter and provide a second chance for more than 900 cats and kittens a year. We offer a variety of community programs for residents to have cats affordably spayed and neutered: Trap-Neuter-Return, Spay the Mom, Forest Park Spay\Neuter Clinic and transportation to the VT-CAN Spay\Neuter clinic.

MAY

A 12 year old, spayed female, beagle/German shepherd mix, weighing 50 lbs.

I am a mellow, senior dog who is looking for a quiet home where I can take it easy. I am a low energy dog.

I am not a high maintenance or picky dog, a few snacks and a cushy bed are all I am looking for. I arrived at RCHS on September 17 because I had a few accidents in the house at night time.

If you are a laid back person looking for a good ole dog to sit by the fire and relax with then please stop by and take me home.

ZIGGY

A 2 year old, neutered male, guinea pig.

I came to RCHS with two other guinea pigs and we all get along well with each other. We are all very social and like to be handled and loved.

The RCHS is located at 765 Stevens Road in Pittsford. The shelter phone number is 483-6700.

The shelter is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. Learn more at www.rchsvt.org.
