The Vermont Country Store, based in Manchester Center with stores in Rockingham and Weston, was among those honored at the annual National Philanthropy Day on November 5.
Hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northern New England Chapter, National Philanthropy Day recognizes the extraordinary contributions of philanthropists - and those people active in the philanthropic community - to the region, country, and world. This year's celebration was held at the Hilton Waterfront Hotel in Burlington.
"Each of these recipients has excelled in their own special ways," Gnerre said. "There are few Vermonters who are not familiar with the charm and long history of The Vermont Country Store and its quintessential New England catalogue and stores. Now, may as many people become familiar with The Vermont Country Store's contributions to the philanthropic landscape of Vermont as well."
The Vermont Country Store was nominated this year by the Long Trail School of Dorset. Eliot Orton, owner of The Vermont Country Store, accepted the award.
