Collectible tree ornament offered again

WARRENSBURG - The 21st annual edition of the Christmas in Warrensburgh tree ornament series is now available for purchase. All ornaments are handcrafted, numbered, signed and dated, according to Teresa Whalen of Warrensburg Beautification, Inc. which sponsors the series.

The 2009 ornament was crafted by North Country artisan Sudjai Bentley, a native of Thailand and a resident of Mt. Arab in Tupper Lake. The design, a woven birch-bark fish, commemorates the quadricentennial of the discovery of the Hudson River and Lake Champlain. Also available is a companion ornament, a miniature watercolor landscape featuring water, mountains and trees to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Warrensburgh Beautification, which has recently focused on the appreciation and preservation of the abundant flora along the banks of the Hudson.

Tree ornament orders may be placed by calling 466-5497 or e-mailing taawhalen@yahoo.com, and picked up on Friday, November 27 at the Senior Citizens Center from 10 a.m. to noon. A limited number of ornaments will also be available at Miller Art & Frame, 3729 Main St., Warrensburg.
