The John Thurman Historical Society will have their annual meeting Tuesday Dec. 1. At the event, they'll hold an election of three directors for a two-year term. The meeting, complete with a covered dish dinner, will start at 5:30 p.m. at the town hall. The event also features a Christmas party with gift exchange.

The H.E.A.P. heating-fuel outreach of the Warren County Office of the Aging will be visiting Warrensburg at 10 a.m. Friday Dec. 4 at the senior mealsite, hosted by the United Methodist Church. Bring proof of income for all household members, Social Security numbers and any fuel bills. For details, call 761-6347. This program is open to anyone age 60 or older.

The Sugar Loaf Mountain Seniors Club will be enjoying their annual Christmas luncheon 1 p.m. Sunday Dec. 6 at the German-themed restaurant at the Ramada Inn in Glens Falls. Reservations are required.

The Mommie and Me club invites all toddlers and their moms to the group's next meeting, 9:30 a.m. Friday Dec. 4 at the youth building in Athol. This get-together features getting ready for Christmas - including decorating projects. For information, call 623-5024.

On the personal side

Birthdays celebrated this next week are: Josh Langabeer and Kody Cameron on Nov. 28; Woody Cyr and Destiny Warrington on Nov. 30; Jay Siletti on Dec. 2; Brielle MacNamara on Dec. 3; and Kelly Schmidt, Bonnie Bills, and Eric Ross on Dec. 4.

A Happy Anniversary wish is out to Walt and Marilyn Baker, celebrating 35 years on Dec. 1.

Frank Stewart of VanCouver, Washington enjoyed a week in Thurman with his dad and family, Stu and Liz Stewart on Athol Rd. While he was here they all traveled to Albany to visit Liz's daughter Anya and Scott Young and son Slade and then they proceeded to Utica to visit a cousin. They enjoyed their time together before Frank returned to Vancouver.
