Final election results tallied
The 29 absentee ballots returned by the deadline were counted and the numbers have changed dramatically, although no races were overturned. A total of 419 voters turned out Nov. 3 of the 812 voters registered, and they voted as follows, including absentee ballots:
For Supervisor, Red Pitkin - 226, Tuck Birdsall - 172, Randy Oppitz - 15 for town supervisor. For Town Clerk, Cindy Hyde - 146 votes; for two seats on the town board, Al Vasak 289 votes; Charles Bills, 107; Glenda Duell, 90; and Rebecca Desourdy, 1 vote. For Highway Superintendent, Pat Wood, 248 votes; for Assessor, Ed Binder, 179 votes, and the following write-in votes: Richard Morrisee, 1; Ruth Keller, 1; and Peter Redfield, 1.
Memory Tree lighting planned
The Thurman Emergency Squad will once again be lighting up a Christmas tree in memory of those loved ones who are no longer with us. The bulbs are $1 each and the tree will be turned on Dec. 12 and kept on until after New Years Day.

Thurman events, activities scheduled
The Kenyontown Methodist Church on Valley Rd. will be having a pot luck dinner at 7 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 16.
