Thrift shop to close for winter

CROWN POINT - Second Blessings Thrift Shop will be closed on Thanksgiving as well as the Saturday following the holiday to allow volunteers to share time with their families.

The following week, the shop, located in the Hammond Chapel, Route 9N and Creek Road in Crown Point, will be open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (December 1, 3 and 5) 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as usual.

"This will, however, be our final week for the season due to heating and water considerations," said Pastor David Hirtle of the Crown Point First Congregational Church. "We continue to have many fine winter coats as well as Christmas decorations and gift ideas."

Second Blessings is a Ministry to the community of First Congregational Church, Crown Point. Second Blessings is staffed by volunteers.

Second Blessings is a donation-only thrift shop. If the client cannot afford a donation, the item still goes with them.

"The staff of Second Blessings is grateful to our many friends for their help in making this a year of many blessings," Hirtle said.

If there is an urgent need, call 597-3398.

"We will make arrangements to help you," Hirtle said.
