Breaking new ground

Hospice of the North Country broke ground for its new administrative facility on Tom Miller Road in the town of Plattsburgh Nov. 9. Executive director Kent W. Brooks, third from right, was joined by those involved with making contributions of resources and services to get the project started. Joining him, from left, was Robert G. Wallett, vice president of the Hospice board of directors and building committee chairman; architect Kim Musso; project general manager Ken Musso; previous landowners Suzanne B. and Donald M. Kasprzak; Linda Facteau, registered nurse and Hospice case manager; and engineer Karl T. Weiss. Brooks thanked the Kasprzaks for selling Hospice the property for half of its market value and thanked the other honored guests for making contributions that have well exceeded $125,000 in value. The project is expected to take three to six months to complete.
