Skull of missing Rutland man found by hunter

RUTLAND - Vermont State Police officials in Rutland announced that the remains of a Rutland man missing since 2005 have been found. A hunter discovered the man's skull in Rutland County Nov. 15. No other physical remains were found.

The remains were identified as William "Mike" Hogan. Hogan disappeared in May 2005 while enroute to friends in Shrewsbury. He was last seen on Spring Lake Road. Since Hogan's disappearance, family, friends and neighbors had searched for his whereabouts.

VSP detetcives said Hogan was identified with the help of local dental records.

Hogan's disappearance did not appear to be the result of foul play, according to VSP detectives. However, a search will continue for more remains.
