Ferry operator decides to cancel 10:30 p.m. run Nov. 17

The Lake Champlain Ferry Company, which runs the Essex/Charlotte Ferry, announced that due to extremely low ridership-sometimes no riders at all-it has cancelled its last run of Tuesday, Nov. 17. The schedule change began Monday, Nov. 16.

This means that the last ferry leaving Charlotte for Essex now departs at 9 p.m. instead of 10 p.m., while the last ferry leaving Essex for Charlotte departs at 9:30 p.m. instead of 10:30 p.m.

The ferry company has posted this information at its ticket booths for several days now, as well as on its website.
