Walk raises $27,000 for Alzheimer's research

Hundreds gathered at the Plattsburgh State Field House on Rugar Street in Plattsburgh Oct. 25 to participate in Alzheimer's Walk 2009. The event, which raised approximately $27,000 for Alzheimer's disease research, included an annual ribbon-cutting to begin the walk. This year's ribbon-cutting was led by event spokesperson Therese Dudyak, third from left, and Katherine "Kay" Merrifield, second from left. The two were joined, from left, by Merrifield's granddaughter, Carrie Hall, and Merrifield's daughter, Ellen Hall.
