The Spring 2009 edition of Pawprints is out! If you are not on our mailing list, you can pick up a copy at the shelter on 23 Lakeshore Avenue in Westport. The Spring edition has several interesting articles about adopted animals and animal care. In addition, we are hoping you will take advantage of the handy enclosed envelope to send a donation for the animals. You can designate your donation toward general shelter expenses, Farnsworth Spay\Neuter fund, Dewey Memorial Fund for the rehabilitation of abused cats and dogs, or in memory/honor of either a beloved person or pet. Donations are tax deductible, and no amount is too large - or too small.

Our featured pet this week is Candi, a long-haired, Tabby colored cat whom we believe is part Maine Coone. Candi has gorgeous, huge golden eyes and and inquisitive face, along with beautiful markings. This young lady enjoys being held and is always in search of a warm and comfy lap. She has the sweet disposition and loyalty typical of Maine Coones. Candi has current vaccinations, is neutered, and fully house trained. If you are looking for a loving friend, you should definitely meet Candi!

If you would prefer the high-energy and rough-and-tumble ways of a kitten, we have numerous little, lively balls of fur to offer! Spring is kitten season and we generally have kittens of all colors, hair types, and personalities available. We also tend to have a number of puppies who need homes. As always, there are plenty of adult and senior pets who are also hoping to find their new best friend. Why not stop in today and find your perfect companion?
