CROWN POINT - On Wednesday, June 3, the Crown Point FCCLA club will host the second annual Talent Show at Crown Point Central School. The event will start at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium and has an admission price of $3. Currently, there are more than 20 acts signed up to perform, including dance routines, musical selections, instrumental performances, comedy skits, and even a puppet show. Last year's winners were Blair Marshall and Ashley Peters (current freshmen in college), who performed a comedy skit to take first prize. Unlike last year, which featured only one division, the Talent Show will be broken down into two separate divisions: students in Grades 4-6 can compete for the first place prize of $25, and students in Grades 7-12 plus Faculty can compete for the first place prize of $50. Also new to the show will be performances by the Crown Point Central School Dance Class. The Dance Class started this year as a physical education elective class under the direction of Miss Laura Uhly and has been asked to perform at several school events throughout the year. The students in the class will perform two different routines for the Talent Show as part of their Final Project for the year. To start off the show, the class will be dancing a ballroom medley to "Sway" by the Pussycat Dolls, demonstrating the various ballroom dance steps that they have learned throughout the year. As the grand finale to the show, the students will be performing Michael Jackson's original "Thriller," complete with scary costumes, fog, tombstones, and perhaps even a guest appearance by a special dancer. Members of the community will have to come to the show to find out and to see who wins the Talent Show in each division.
