The resolution passed unanimously on May 18.
Throughout its 125 years of operation, many things have changed at Camp Dudley while many others have stayed practically the same. In 2002, the camp changed its mission to include girls with the goal of owning and operating a camp for girls by 2009. That goal was met three years ahead of schedule with the 2006 addition of Camp Dudley at Kiniya, located in Colchester, Vt.
The Camp Dudley campus is comprised of 84 buildings on 500 acres in Westport. Some of the facilities, such as the boathouse, date back to the earliest days of the camp.
Approximately 600 boys pass through its gates each summer with 300 girls attending the Kiniya campus. Dudley boasts a camper return rate of 84 percent.
Though no public events are scheduled to celebrate the anniversary, the camp will hold a four-day reunion for Dudley alumni in late August.
"We are grateful for our loyal alumni and the undying support they have shown us over the past century," wrote camp representatives in a press release, "and we hope to continue to live 'The Other Fellow First' for another 125 years."
