INDIAN LAKE - The annual town-wide yard sale will take place from May 22-24 at households throughout the town of Indian Lake. And once again, the charity sale will correspond with the town-wide sale.
For the 10th year, the annual charity sale will run simultaneously with the town sale. The charity sale will take place on May 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Indian Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
"The charity sale originated as a benefit for cancer research," charity sale organizer Nicole Delcore said. "It then started to raise money for more local charities."
Delcore said that funds raised from the charity sale will benefit a documentary being produced by Adirondack Life and the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts about local teenagers, the Community Action Gardening project, the Helping Hands Caregivers and the Indian Lake Volunteer Fire Department. The remaining funds would go toward building a shade pavilion at the Indian Lake Public Beach, Delcore said.
"There is a lot going on this year," she said. "We have face painting and raffles going on throughout the day. We even have Yankees tickets for one of the door prizes."
Delcore said that anyone wishing to donate lightly used clothing or objects should call 648-5985.
Shoppers are encouraged to stop by the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce and pick-up a map detailing the locations of town sale sites.
