CHAMPLAIN - Five runs in the bottom of the fourth were all the Cougars needed to defeat AuSable Valley in CVAC baseball May 13.
Casey Letourneau went the distance on the mound for Northeastern Clinton, giving up six hits with two strikeouts.
Jordan Bezio, Ricky Lee, and T.J. Burl continued their hitting streaks with Burl and Bezio hitting doubles for AuSable Valley.
Alex LaFountain took the loss for the Patriots, pitching through four full innings.
Schroon Lake 7, Keene 6
KEENE - It took extra innings, but the Wildcats finally edged Keene in MVAC baseball May 15.
Luke Andrews and James Bell combined for two RBI in the bottom of the seventh to erase Schroon Lake's two-run lead.
The Wildcats' Brian Horton batted in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, however, and relief pitcher Jeremy Tyrell held off any further comeback from the Beavers.
Sam Earl took the loss on the mound for Keene, but hit a triple to help his cause.
Willsboro 6, Westport 5
WILLSBORO - The Warriors built an early 5-1 lead and held on to beat Westport in MVAC baseball May 15.
The Eagles scored three runs in the fifth inning to trim the lead to one, but Lucas Strong held off any futher comeback from Westport on his way to pitching a complete game for the Warriors.
Justin Drinkwine had two RBI doubles for Willsboro. Jordon Blanchard added a double and a single.
Michael Tyler had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBI for Westport. Sean Davis added a double as well.
Bolton 13, Elizabethtown-Lewis 3
BOLTON - The Lions could not keep up with Bolton's bats as the Eagles grabbed another win in MVAC baseball May 15.
Ben Gaddy picked up the win for Bolton with four strikouts. He also hit two doubles to help his effort. Casey Russ added two RBI doubles of his own and Brian Vilmar drove in four runs.
