Bixby plant sale is bigger, better

Friends of the Bixby will hold an expanded annual Plant Sale Saturday, May 30, 9 a.m. -1 p.m. On the lawn of the library, there will be selections of old garden favorites, locally grown and donated perennials, annuals, herbs, veggies and other plants.

Paul Sokal, owner of Addison Gardens, will be on hand to answer customers' questions about plant selections. This event will also feature a used book sale highlighting garden and cookbooks and garden-themed magazines.

An indoor sale will feature local asparagus, catnip toys, egghead gardens for the kids, novel lawn and garden ornaments, unique containers to be used as planters and other gently used items. A handmade quilt will headline the silent auction, which also includes a Lenox swan bowl. At noontime, items will be half priced and remaining items will be free at 1 p.m.

All proceeds go towards library programs. Donations of plant and other items to sell will gladly be accepted and should be delivered by 5 p.m., May 28 ,or call 877-6392.
