Westport 7, Crown Point 5

WESTPORT - The Eagles relied on their pitching to upset Crown Point in MVAC baseball May 6.

Colin MacIver fanned 11, walked four, and allowed only four hits from the Panthers, who were handed their first loss of the season. He added two hits for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Jesse Stevens had three RBI on two hits and Kevin Russell hit a solo homer. With the score tied, Senior Zach Sherman drove in the go-ahead runs with his two-out single in the bottom of the sixth.

Nathan Tabor took the loss in relief for the Panthers.

Chazy 4, Willsboro 3

CHAZY - Chris Vliege proved to be just enough for the Eagles to squeak past Willsboro in MVAC baseball May 6.

Vliege went the distance on the mound with 11 strikeouts and two walks. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored the walk-off run for Chazy in the bottom of the seventh off a single from Ben Baker.

Clay Sherman had a single and a double for Willsboro, and Clayton Cross drove in the tying run in the top of the seventh inning to make it 3-3.

John Pollock suffered the loss for the Warriors.

Schroon Lake 4, Elizabethtown-Lewis 1

SCHROON LAKE - Wesley Beers won the pitching duel for the Wildcats as they beat Elizabethtown-Lewis in MVAC baseball May 6.

Ethan Tyrell connected on a solo homer while Beers added two hits to help his effort on the mound. Beers amassed 13 strikeouts and just two walks for the one-hitter.

Andy Mitchell had the lone single for the Lions.

Bolton 10, Keene 4

BOLTON - Bolton broke away in the sixth inning for a win over Keene in MVAC baseball May 6.

Cody Whitney and Dylan Boyle combined for four of seven Beaver hits as the two teams traded innings most of the way.
