Willsboro 5/16

Hopefully Mothers enjoyed their special day this past week. There seemed to be many opportunities to take Mom out to eat with the many special offerings at area restaurants. Just a good ride around town brings joy as we view all the spring plants and shrubs that are in full bloom.

A reminder that we should be very careful about outside burning, there have been some very bad fires recently in the surrounding area, fire can get out of control very quickly. Fire Departments can only do so much if there is more than one fire at a time.

My sister, Paula Calkins, and I recently enjoyed a very interesting trip to Syracuse, as we attended the Calkins Family Association Gathering. This is a large scale genealogy group searching out the Calkins family roots. It was a pleasure to learn of each other as we come from all parts of the country. My two daughters also joined us, Cindy Flanagan and Sheila Vanags to make it a most enjoyable outing.

Wow, double wow, what a wonderful performance of "Mame" that was performed here at our local school auditorium this past week. It was outstanding and such a great opportunity for many of our locals to show their talent. I am ever so impressed with our youth that take part in these productions; they do such an outstanding job and get better with every performance. It was such a thrill to have Lesie & George Hearn lend their talents to a local performance. Hope you all got a chance to attend. If not, you missed the performance of the year.
