Ticonderoga, Crown Point roll on

Crown Point topped Schroon Lake, 16-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball play May 1.

Chelsea Dushane and Lindsay Brace combined on a two-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts as the Panthers raised their record to 5-0.

Jessica Potter had three hits, including a triple and a double, while Ashley Morgan had a single and a triple for the Panthers.

Kierstin Langabeer singled in the first and Brandi Planty added a base hit in the fifth for the Wildcat hits.

Ticonderoga 14, Lake Placid 4

Ticonderoga trounced Lake Placid, 14-2, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball action May 1.

Chelsea Budwick smacked a three-run homer and seven other Sentinels players had at least one hit.

Julie Thompson had three hits and Jocelyn Barber and Taylor Denno both had two RBI for the locals.

Katie Karkoski fanned seven and walked three in seven innings for the pitching win.

ELCS 4, Schroon Lake 2

Errors were costly to Schroon Lake in a 4-2 los to Elizabethtown-Lewis in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball play April 27.

ELCS managed just two hits, but scored a pair of unearned runs for the win.

Schroon Lake used three pitchers with Korinne Talham taking the loss.

Ashley Subra's sixth-inning single was the Wildcats' lone hit.

Ticonderoga 15, Peru 5

Ticonderoga blasted Peru, 15-5, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball action April 28.

Ashley St. Andrews hit a double and two singles to help the Sentinels beat the Indians.

Katie Karkoski struck out eight and walked three for the win. She also hit three singles.

Plattsburgh 8, Moriah 7

A late Moriah rally came up short as the Vikings lost to Plattsburgh, 8-7, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball action April 28.

Trailing 8-3, Moriah scored four times in the final inning but couldn't get the tying run home.
