Champlain Valley Chorale

SCHROON LAKE - The Champlain Valley Chorale will perform its annual spring concert in Schroon Lake.

The chorale will sing Friday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at the Schroon Lake Central School auditorium.

This year's show is "Let Freedom Sing."

It will also be performed at Fort Ticonderoga on Sunday, May 17, at 3 p.m.

In addition to a selection of patriotic pieces, the choir will perform a piece by Randall Thompson that sets to music the writings of Thomas Jefferson.

At Fort Ticonderoga the chorale will be accompanied by members of the Fort Ticonderoga Fife & Drum Corps and narrated by Fort Curator Mark Turdo. "Testament of Freedom" is a patriotic work that premiered in 1943 on the 200th anniversary of Jefferson's birth.

The chorale features more than 50 singers from the Ticonderoga, Moriah, Schroon Lake area.
