Willsboro 5/2/09

The joy of the spring season is upon us, with two nice day of temperature reaching 80 degrees, the little bit of rain making the lawns green; it's a wonderful sight. We also are enjoying the handiwork of Leanna DeNeal who planted so many spring flowers in places that everyone can enjoy. This week many people were outside doing yard work. Soon trees will be fully leaved out. We are in good shape to welcome the winter fly-aways back home.

There is no need for people to say there is nothing to do here in a small town. There are many great opportunities offered and it amazes me that so few people take advantage of some of these events. This past week at the local school two outstanding speakers shared the highlights of their careers, George Hearn and Thurston Clark. This was the last of three such opportunities for the public to come and hear these interesting stories of their lives. Also, great movies are being presented by the Champlain Valley Film Society all year long. The next great showing will be on Sat. May 2 showing "Frost\Nixon" at the Depot Theatre in Westport starting at 8 p.m. The outstanding performance of "Mame" also coming to Willsboro School on May 7, 8, and 9, and a matinee on the 10th. The many Quad events will be starting up with Memorial Day and on through the month of June.

Tony D'Angelo has announced that he will not be offering yoga classes this summer due to some plans to be away, will resume in the fall. Glad to see that Mary & Peter Gload have returned from their Florida residence.
