Ti tops Moriah; Panthers post no-hitters

Ticonderoga beat Moriah, 11-2, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball play April 25.

Winning pitcher Katie Karkoski struck out eight over six innings.

Julie Thompson and Ashley St. Andrews each rapped a triple and single for the Sentinels.

Samantha Slattery fanned four in taking the loss. The Vikings had five hits in the contest, with Kayla Gagnon driving in one of the two Moriah runs.

Crown Point 40, Johnsburg 0

Chelsea Dushane hurled a no-hitter as Crown Point routed Johnsburg, 40-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball action April 20.

Dushane, who struck out 13 and walked two in seven innings, carried a perfect game into the fifth.

The Panthers took advantage of 13 bases on balls and 14 hit-batsmen while pounding out 25 hits.

Jessica Potter led the attack with six hits, including two doubles and a triple, while Lindsay White was 4-for-4 with a grand slam and a double.

Ashley Morgan also had four hits with two doubles while Heather Bemis and Lindsay Brace each had three hits.

Paige Dolback ripped a home run and a triple and scored five runs while Haley White added two hits, including a triple.

AVCS 8 Moriah 3

AuSable Valley topped Moriah, 8-3, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball play April 21.

Johanna Recny and Whitney Vincent each collected three hits to lead the visiting Patriots to victory.

Sherri Guffey had three hits to lead Moriah.

Kaycee Kolodzey's triple was the big hit in a three-run second for the Vikings. Ashleigh Allen and Guffey had singles in the inning.

Ticonderoga 27, Seton 0

Katie Karkoski fired a one-hitter as Ticonderoga beat Seton Catholic, 27-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball play April 21.

Karkoski struck out 13 and didn't issue a walk.

In the sixth, Chelsea Budwick hit a grand slam and Ashley St. Andrews smacked a 3-run homer. Both finished with three hits. Jessica Blodgett also had three hits.
