Horse show had something for everyone

One of the country's best-known horse trainers and clinicians and an extreme trail competition were among the highlights of the 2009 edition of Everything Equine, featured at the Champlain Valley Exposition's Miller Expo Centre last weekend.

Children, too, found a space just for them in the 4-H Kids Korner in the Blue Seal Blue Ribbon Pavillion with activities, games and information about horses.

Special horse show guest star was Kenny Harlow, known professionally as "the trainer of trust," is a nationally renowned horse trainer and teacher from Virginia. He studied under legendary "horse whisperer" John Lyons and has been featured in publications, on television and radio for years, discussing training techniques and horse understanding to strengthen the human/equine connection. Harlow, whose appearance was sponsored by Tony's Tack Shop and Gray Ghost Farm, offered a clinic on horse training and provided tips and feedback to interested participants at the weekend-long event. Another featured celebrity expert wasbe Darren Graziano, champion hunter/jumper and grand prix professional equestrian. Graziano demonstrated jumping and provided judging and commentary both days of Everything Equine.

More than 170 vendors and exhibitors displayed their latest equipment, nutrition supplements, and equine-related supplies.
