The estate of Henry DeMars is selling a camp and 196 acres of land on the Schroon River in Bolton. Mark Bruce Real Estate has bought the Robert Wirtz place at 30 Hudson St., Warrensburg.

John LaFond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis LaFond, Warrensburg (next door to the fire house on Elm St.), has been named to the dean's list for the winter semester at Siena College. He graduated from Warrensburg Central in 1958.

Maltbie family news

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bolton have purchased a house trailer and plan to reside in this area as Mr. Bolton has been transferred from Albany to Glens Falls by the State Engineering Department. Mrs. Bolton is the former Katherine "Kaki" Maltbie, daughter of William Maltbie of Warrensburg.

Lt. Robert M. Maltbie, on Feb. 13, 1959, completed the Primary Basic Navigator training program at James Connally Air Force Base. His wife, the former Jane Wilcox and their son, Bobby are with him. Robert Maltbie is a son of William Maltbie, Chevrolet dealer of Warrensburg.

Delivered by the stork

Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Beadnell of Thurman are the parents of a daughter, born March 7, 1959, who has been named Marion Beth Beadnell.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fuller of Warrensburg are the parents of a son, born March 15, 1959, named Bruce Earl Fuller. Mrs. Fuller is the former Jane Russell.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ross of Warrensburg are the parents of a son, born March 24, 1959, named Shane Logan Ross. The couple have two other children, Kim and Tamara Ross.

Business as usual

The Warren Inn (present day George Henry's Tavern) is re-opening their dining room March 27, 1959. On the menu is chicken cacciatore, steak pizzaiola and clams casino.

Cal's Restaurant on upper Main St. has either fried oysters, shrimp or a scallop dinner for $1.65. (Cal Engle later went on to become supervisor of Warrensburg)
