CVPH assists AMC in emergency

PLATTSBURGH - CVPH Medical Center initiated its Level 2 Disaster Plan last Sunday, March 22 in anticipation of receiving a significant number of patients from Adirondack Medical Center. The Saranac Lake hospital was losing heat because of a boiler malfunction, necessitating patients be transferred.

The disaster plan was called at approximately 1:30 p.m. Shortly after 3 p.m., officials at AMC notified the disaster command center at CVPH that a total of 10 patients were being transferred to Plattsburgh for care.

The disaster plan was called off at 3:38 p.m. as all steps had been taken to accommodate the influx of patients.
