CSJ athletes, teams earn national kudos

The Spartans placed 4th overall at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships, earning a berth to the USCSA National Championships, where they finished tenth out of the top-21 teams in the country.

Senior ice hockey forward Nikita Kashirsky of Moscow, Russia, earned Player of the Year in the Men's East. Kashirsky scored 15 goals and added 14 helpers to lead all league scorers with 29 points in 19 Men's East games. Ryan Hatch (Medway, Massachusetts/Santa Fe Roadrunners) of Salem State was voted Goalie of the Year, compiled a .922 save percentage and a 9-6-1 record in league play. New England College forward Olli Kalliosaai (Hattula, Finland / HPK) received Rookie of the Year honors. Kalliosaai led all rookie scorers with 15 points in league play, tallying 7 goals and adding 8 assists.
