TICONDEROGA - The Mental Health Association in Essex County will hold an open house at its Ticonderoga facility Monday, March 30,2-6 p.m.
The facility is located at 20 Amherst Avenue.
"The attitudes of many within the general public toward people with psychiatric diagnoses are the greatest barriers to attainment of employment," said William Sullivan, executive director of the Mental Health Association in Essex County.
MHA has long advocated for and assisted adults with mental illness. To increase awareness of the services MHA provides and to further educate the public about psychiatric disabilities, MHA has invited the public to the open house.
People will have the opportunity to meet and talk with staff members and participants about the services offered by MHA, tour the new center, and enjoy light refreshments.
At 5 p.m. MHA's board of directors will take time to recognize Sullivan for his 11 years of service. He is retiring on April 3, 2009.
