Willsboro 3-21-09

I guess we should not take good health for granted, because it can turn on a dime. While doing some routine annual check ups, I ran into trouble and spent a week in the Plattsburg Hospital. It is good to know that this service is available, but the best part was to get home. Another good thing for me was that all of my family touched base with me, even grandson Joey Vanags and his friend Megan came up to visit me on Sunday. Many thanks for all the well wishes.

I visited Joyce Blanchard, she is hopeful of coming home soon after months of hospital stay. Flora June Doyle also spent some time recently in the hospital. One hospital visit this week was a joyous one for Stefanie & Steven and sister Cleo Lobdell as they welcomed into this world another baby daughter, Tess Lobdell born on 3/13/09.

Danny & Lane Sayward experienced a bad fire this past weekend, a barn on their property burned to the ground. Sympathy is extended to the family of Pat Wade who died on 3/13. In a small community these kinds of happenings affect a lot of people.

The Iroquois Lodge in Essex is offering a Kids Kabin Fever Day event, at the Lodge on March 22 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. for children in grades up through 4th grade. Lots of fun with a magician, balloon sculptures, games and serving hot chocolate and cookies, all for free. The Willsboro School Senior class put on their annual play this past weekend, and they did a good job. This is always a good experience for students to perform in front of a group.

The snow is nearly gone and the Boquet River ice is fast breaking up, hopeful there will be no floods. Hard to believe March is half gone and Easter is only three weeks away.

Happy Birthday: Mona Morgan 3/22, Polly Belanger 3/23, Christine Provost 3/24, Jolene Sayward 3/25 Leslie Wilkins 3/26, Barbara McKaig 3/28, Marlene Young 3/29, Win (Chief) Belanger 3/29.
