WCS athletes persevered in 2008-09 despite challenges

For Junior Varsity, Jaci O'Brien received the Most Valuable Player Award, Kate Kuklinski received the Sportsmanship Award, and Isabella Szabo, the Most Improved honors. Coach Christene Baker noted that the team played with pride, winning 70 percent of their home games, and that a season highlight was when against Salem, Kuklinski had hit a shot at the final buzzer for a come-from-behind victory.

For the Cheerleaders, Varsity MVP went to Emma Corlew, Demi Iverson was named Most Improved, and Ashley Trapasso received the Sportsmanship Award.

For Junior Varsity Cheerleading, Alysia Griswold was named Most Spirited, and Lindsay Wood received the Sportsmanship honor.
